jet milling
Jet milling is a process in which metal particles or other materials are reduced in their size by a high-velocity jet of gas or air, having no mechanical grinding.

Key Feature:

  • Gas Jet Acceleration: The particles that are entrained in fast jets of gas or air collide among themselves, leading to a reduction in their size.
  • Non-Contact Grinding: Since this method has no interface with grinding tools, it becomes applicable for heat-sensitive materials.
  • Particle Size Control: The process generates particles of very fine size with a pretty uniform size distribution, mostly in the micron and nanometer range.

Jet milling finds its applications widely in the pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, and electronics industries, wherever fine and homogeneous particle sizes are required, free from contamination.
